Anti-aging property of PVC heat stabilizers shows by anti-aging performance of PVC profiles. Anti-aging property of PVC heat stabilizer in PVC profile show in two aspects. In one aspect, it ensures heat stability of PVC molecular chain in heating mixing process. In the other aspect, it ensures heat stability of PVC molecular chain in PVC profiles` shelf life. To fulfill the two aspects, anti-aging performance of heat stabilizer itself is important. If heat stabilizer`s anti-aging property is not good, generated Photochromic molecules will lead to decomposition of PVC molecular chain. It would not prevent the decomposition of PVC resin, but will accelerate the aging rate of PVC resin. So it is important prerequisite to ensure anti-aging performance of PVC profile that evaluate anti-aging property of PVC stabilizer itself. Stabilizer`s evaluation content: The product shall have good heat stability, UV stability, no color changing and no coloration in heating process, storage and use. What is CPVC pipe? CPVC is a thermoplastic made via chlorination of the polyvinyl chloride resin. This means its chemical composition is two carbon atoms double bonded to each other, with two hydrogen atoms and two chlorine atoms single bonded to the carbon. This molecule links with others to form chains of CPVC. It is resistant to degradation and provides a long service lifespan. In fact, the first piping systems using CPVC occurred in 1959, and they are still working without a problem. CPVC pipe physical appearance CPVC pipes are sized in two ways- nominal pipe size (NPS references the diameter of the interior hole of the pipe) and copper tube size (CTS references the outside diameter of the tube). Pipes using the NPS system are light gray, and pipes using CTS system are yellow. Both types of pipe will have their specifications printed on the side. CPVC and PVC similarities It is safe to use CPVC in applications where PVC may be used. Both PVC and CPVC have been deemed safe for potable water transport, i.e. cooking, drinking, and bathing water, and they`re resistant to degradation from acid, alkali, and most inorganic chemicals7. Stabilizers are added to PVC to allow its processing and to improve its resistance especially in outdoor applications, weathering and heat ageing and have an important influence on the physical properties of PVC finished products. Factors such as process technology involved, technical requirements of PVC end product, regulatory requirements and cost, influence the choice of the stabilizer used. Calcium Zinc Stabilizer is one of the most successful developments in recent years. It has been the progress made in solid Ca Zn stabilizer formulations to replace lead on a cost-effective basis. It has also been important that the components of these systems have a satisfactory low-toxicity profile. Ca Zn formulations are a complex blend consisting primarily of: • Calcium soap (stearate or laurate) • Zinc soap (stearate or laurate) • Acid scavengers such as a hydrotalcite, zeolite, and metal oxides/hydroxides • Organic co-stabilisers such as the diketone stearoyl benzoylmethane • Antioxidant • Polyols, and so on. Calcium stearate acts as an acid acceptor in addition to providing lubrication. Zinc stearate is used to improve initial and early colour, in combination with the co-stabiliser. This functions by the co-stabiliser complexing the zinc stearate and so preventing the early formation of zinc chloride, which is a prodegradant. It should also be noted that PVC resins may react differently in the presence of zinc (zinc sensitive) and this has an influence on stabiliser formulations. ASA is the acronym for acrylate rubber modified styrene acrylonitrile copolymer. ASA is a terpolymer that can be produced either by a reaction process of all three monomers or by a graft process. ASA is usually made by introducing a grafted acrylic ester elastomer during the copolymerization of styrene and acrylonitrile, known as SAN. The finely divided elastomer powder is uniformly distributed and grafted onto the SAN molecular chains. The outstanding weatherability of ASA is due to the acrylic ester elastomer. ASA polymers are amorphous plastics, which have mechanical properties similar to those of the ABS resins. However, the properties of ASA are far less affected by outdoor weathering. ASA resins are available in natural, off-white, and a broad range of standard and custom-matched colors. ASA resins can be compounded with other polymers to make alloys and compounds that benefit from ASA's weather resistance. ASA is used in many products including lawn and garden equipment, sporting goods, automotive exterior parts, safety helmets, and building materials.

How to Join a PVC Pipe With a CPVC Pipe? At first glance, PVC and CPVC pipe look the same, but they aren`t. Although they are both a type of plastic plumbing pipe, they vary in composition and outside diameter. For this reason, you cannot simply join the two types of plastic with a coupling. You can, however, solvent-weld a special fitting designed to compensate for the diameter difference. When solvent-welding PVC to CPVC, you`ll need a primer and adhesive that will soften both types of pipe. Step 1 Prepare the pieces of the PVC-to-CPVC connection. Prime the first 2 inches of the exterior surface of the PVC and the CPVC pipes with the CPVC primer. Then prime the inside of the entire CPVC-to-PVC adapter. You will find the priming brush attached to the lid of the CPVC primer can. Step 2 Immediately apply a light coating of CPVC glue to the primed area of the CPVC pipe and the side of the CPVC-to-PVC adapter. Step 3 Slide the glued side of the CPVC adapter onto the glued end of the CPVC pipe and hold the adapter onto the end of the pipe for 30 seconds to bond the two pieces. Step 4 Apply CPVC glue to the exterior of the primed end of the PVC pipe and the PVC side of the CPVC-to-PVC adapter. Step 5 Insert the glued end of the PVC pipe into the glued open side of the adapter and hold for 30 seconds to complete the joining process.
