Chlorinated Polyvinyl Chloride CPVC is a thermoplastic produced by chlorination of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) resin, which is significantly more flexible and can withstand higher temperature than PVC. It is a high heat and corrosion resistant material, and it has become an important engineering thermoplastic due to its relatively low cost, high heat distortion temperature, chemical resistance, outstanding mechanical, and dielectric, flame and smoke resistance properties.
The manufacturing process makes CPVC resistant to chemicals and degradation, allowing it to last a long time. This makes it useful in commercial and industrial settings, where chemicals and high temperatures are more likely to be present.
CPVC also is more flexible than cast iron or copper pipe. This flexibility makes it easy to work with, and there is a bit of give when encountering joints that aren’t perfectly aligned. Its flexibility also makes this product impact-resistant, further improving its durability.
CPVC compound
The CPVC resin is made by chlorination modification of PVC resin and is one advanced engineering material. The product is white or canary loose grain or powder with no smell,odorless and innocuity. After chlorination, the irregularity of molecular bond of the PVC resin and the polarity of molecular chain increase,the dissolvability and chemical stability of the resin also increases from 56.7% to 63-69% and vicat softening temperature from 72-82°C to 90-125°C,its highest service temperature can reach 110°C and long-term service temperature can reach 95°C. Accordingly, CPVC is one kind of advanced engineering plastic with vast foreground.
